Ezra has the BEST pediatrician. He is so kind, gentle and best of all supportive. He actually listens to Talin and I when we share our concerns and then gives us his advice. I feel like he talks to us as educated individuals (I've met quite a few doctors who don't possess this skill.) He ALWAYS emails us back the next day, and he is so sweet with Ezra. So, the actual check up was great. Ezra is in the 96th percentile for weight and the 99th for height! In the doctor's words "he's a long, lean, boy" =) His development is right on track, and when I expressed my concerns about Ezra's love of "swing sleeping" he just laughed and told me that as long as the baby is getting sleep it's alright...Ezra will let us know when it's time to move beyond the swing. The other AWESOME thing about our doctor is that he's been practicing for over 26 years and was a part of a lot of the vaccination studies that got rid of thimerosal in vaccines.

So after we played with the doctor we had to go down to the immunization clinic to get his shots. They didn't have the brand of DTaP that we wanted so we went with the HIB and Pc. The nurse was sooooooo backed up-there were TONS of people and she was the only nurse there to give everyone their shots. I know that she was busy, and I'm sure she'd had the day from H word, but she was so MEAN! She didn't even say "hi" to Ezra or coo at his little face. She yanked up his outfit jammed in the two shots and when he started bleeding she tsked and sarcastically said, "we got a bleeder"......I WAS SO MAD!!!! My poor sweet boy was screaming in a way that I had never heard before...tears were streaming down his tiny, red, face and this dumb lady was whining about having to put on a band aid?!!?!? Good thing my instincts were screaming to pick up Ezra because if my arms hadn't been full of baby that nurse would have had to deal with one angry momma bear RAAAAAAAAAR!
Poor Ezra cried and cried and cried...his daddy came home and that really helped him. Talin held him and snuggled him and helped him feel better. Hooray for the comfort of daddy. He slept TONS and looks like he's feeling much happier today. I know that vaccinations are important...but man it's hard to think about how important they are when my happy, healthy, little boy becomes grouchy, ornery, sad-face because of something I did to him!
