Duh!

The day that Ezra was born, my sweet doula lovingly stood next to my bed and talked to me while the midwife was repairing my tired body. She told me all about a magical place where Moms and Dads get together and talk for hours about anything at all. In my endorphin induced stupor, I listened and smiled but didn't really pay attention.
A few weeks later, I called her in tears, complaining about how much I missed my family and how frightened I was for Talin to go back to work. She gently reminded me of the magical land, and I , again, brushed if off....DUH! Ezra and I have literally spent the past two days LIVING at the Blossom Birth Center. We've gone to four classes, have met 27 mothers (and 27 babies), have listened, talked, cried (mostly Ezra...but there was a little from me too) and laughed about life as a new mother!
Thank you Rachel Kelly! Having you at Ezra's birth was the BEST thing Talin and I ever did!! Why oh why didn't I listen to you sooner? Lesson learned: When a doula gives you advice...TAKE IT!

I went to a simular "class" like that...sort of a support group for new mamas. I loved it - it was the one place I felt like everyone was going through the same thing as me! How cool that you had a doula. I would have loved one! I bet she was a big help...
