The other day I stumbled upon "baby horoscopes" while wasting time on Pintrest.
I laughed so hard at Ezra's because it was RIGHT on!!
Then I looked up Baby Girl's...
...oh dear....
...here's a small bit...
"You’ve certainly got a Prince or Princess on your hands and they won’t want you to forget that. Just as the Sun takes centre stage in the solar system and is the giver of all light, so are these little cosmic limelight stealers. They just love to be the centre of attention and to feel that they’re the centre of your universe."
I laughed again and imagined how funny it would be to have a tiny diva join our fairly drama-free family....
...little did I know...
On Friday, I went in for a routine check-up and to have my membranes stripped again
(COME ON down baby!!)
The doctor hesitated to strip me because I am already so far dilated/effaced and her son had a birthday this weekend
(she knows how badly I want HER to attend the birth).
So, she suggested I come back on Monday, but in the meantime she decided to do a cervical exam just in case I'd progressed further.
As she was checking, the first words out of her mouth were
"Hmmmm....where's her head??"
(Baby Girl was ENGAGED on my cervix at the last visit!)
I, of course, had to stop myself from sitting up and yelling WHAAAAAAAAT!!!????
In came in the ultrasound monitor....and low and behold our princess feels like she need some attention...because at 39 weeks (almost 40) she decided she'd like to see how breech feels!!
GAAAAAAAAH!!!
My doctor was very sweet, but I felt like within an instant everything changed.
No longer do we need to worry about a mad dash across the bridge.
(well, hopefully!!)
We were given the option to have her turned manually
(External Cephalic Version)
followed by an induction or go straight to c-section.
I was overwhelmed....the doctor sent me home to think about it and then decide by next week what we wanted to do....
I got in touch with EVERY girl I know who has either had a c-section or breech baby and gathered as much info as possible.

I called our doula/good friend Rachel who was SO calm and helpful, and we finally came up with a plan.
1. Acupuncture.
How sweet is it that Talin's insurance covers this??
I had my first appointment on Saturday and it was wooooooonderful!
As soon as the pins were in, Baby Girl was allll over the place.....but she didn't turn.
Ha!
The acupuncturist sent me home with a moxa stick. Apparently they are SUPER effective at turning babes....super stinky too!! =)
I have another session scheduled for Monday.
2. Spinningbabies.com.
I am doing EVERY exercise as much as possible!
Most of them feel great too! I hope she likes them enough to turn.
3. We decided to go ahead and schedule an ECV for next week.
If we go in and she's turned, AWESOME!....if not, we're going for it. GAH!
4. If acupuncture, positioning, AND the ECV fail then we'll have to accept our "scheduled c-section" fate. Honestly, just those words make me feel a little jittery. Lets hope she gets enough attention from everything else we're doing and decides to settle head down again.
On a "non baby" note, we finally got Ezra's room set up!
Well.....at least box free.
He really wants Talin to paint a mural on his walls
(which will be light blue one day)
and he can't WAIT for his loft bed to arrive....but unitl then...
...he has a bright, happy, livable space where he can find ALLL his stuff....and even better....put it away when he's done! =)
Oh, how I love this summertime, freckle nosed, boy! =)
