O-N-E

One year ago today, our love was made complete.
One year ago today, the sight of my husband and best friend holding his new tiny son was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.

One year ago today, one of my oldest dreams came true.

I love you Ezra Talin Wadsworth. You are everything we could have wished and hoped for. Thank you for chosing your daddy and I. We can't wait for the years to come.

FIRST STEPS!!

Oh joy of joys!!!
Ezra and I won the golden ticket today!!
We got to go over to our friend's house to have lunch, play with friends, and make delicious, delicious truffles.
We had SO much fun!!!
While we were there, Ezra was trying to keep up with the older boys (there were three of them running around) and he decided to just let go of my leg and walk away!!! YAY FOR FIRST STEPS!!

What a fun day!

Dear Santa...

Long story short...Ezra decided to pretend to be an 18th century straight-faced baby in EVERY picture that was taken...poor Cache was SUPER freaked out by the GIANT beard growing out of this guy's face! We laughed so hard when they handed us this picture!

which reminds me...Did I ever post this one?

I wonder if I'll subject all of my children to this...or if poor Ezra will be the only one forced to sit on mall character's laps while his Mommy giggles on the sidelines.

Thanks for being such good sports Dru and Cache! And, thank you Ezra for being so patient with my madness. =)

Miracle on 34th St.

I FINALLY downloaded my pictures from Utah...I'm soooo disappointed in my camera. Almost all of them are blurry and dark. Sigh. I've got a few fun ones that I'm putting together in a Thanksgiving post, but I also found these pictures of my dad as Santa in West Jordan's production of Miracle on 34th St.

Isn't he cute? He did such a good job! I'm so proud to be his daughter. =)

I'm almost done with Ezra's birthday present! YAY! Want a little preview........

TA DA! They're not exactly how I envisioned them...and they're taking forever...but I think he'll really like having a set of blocks to stack and knock over...18 down...only 8 more to go...whew!

29 (11/24/2009)

I've been meaning to put up this post for almost 2 weeks now!! That's right..it's the annual "Talin's birthday of love" post! =) In keeping with tradition, here are the 29 reasons (in no particular order) I'm so in love with the man I'm lucky enough to call my husband.
1. He's the BEST daddy!
2. When I fall asleep on the floor he only asks me to come to bed once and then leaves me alone...I may wake up all sore and ornery but I love that he's content to just let me be me. =)
3.He will tell me if my hair looks ok/my outfit matches/my shoes aren't very cute...I love that he has an opinion and will tell me honestly.
4. He has no problem stepping in to cook dinner.
5. He cleans, picks up, organizes, and never asks me to recognize what he's done...he just does it.
6.His scruffy scruffy beard.

7. He calls me Jen when we're with friends, Jennifer if he's frustrated with me...but my favorite..he calls me Jenny when we're alone together and he just wants to chat.
8.He plays with his son...I mean gets down on the floor, does the same thing over and over and never seems to tire of Ezra's silly faces. =)
9. His smile.
10.The way he smells as he's leaving for work in the morning...it lingers in the house for a few minutes and I still feel like he's there
11. The gentle tone of his voice...so soothing.
12. His willingness to work out ANY problem with hope and optimism!
13. His drive to provide for our family.
14. How happy he gets when we're surrounded by our friends. I love that he is so social and "lights up" in a crowd.
15. His Dad is his best friend, he loves his Mom and he worries about his sisters and their happiness. He's a family man through and through.
16. The way he sings.
17. He walks on the outside of the sidewalk. My dad told me once that I would know if a guy was a gentleman or not depending on if he did this....WITHOUT fail he does this. =)
18. A morning shower is his coffee!! He literally CAN NOT function until the shower has been taken.
19. He's always looking for new things...I can honestly say that I don't think he will ever get stuck in a music/movie/fashion rut...he's always ready for a change.

20. If all of the world's fresh food was destroyed and he had to live on ramen noodles and coke, he'd be a happy man. I know this is a strange thing to love about a man...but I think it's so dang funny that he can eat like a college boy but still look like the thin high school kid I first met.

21. He laughs with my dad.
22. He calls my mom just to chat.
23. He worries about MY sisters and their happiness...like I said...a family man through and through.
24. He believes that I can do ANYTHING.
25. I sometimes catch him just staring at our son...such a sweet look of happiness and awe.
26. He compliments me daily.
27. He has NEVER made fun of the way I feel about animals. His OWN compassion for animals is one of the first reasons I knew I could love him.
28. He cares about our country and the welfare of it's citizens.
29. He's the strength of our family.
I LOVE YOU TALIN WADSWORTH! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Leisure time

The other day, Talin brought in the car seat to be switched from his car back into mine. I left it sitting next to the diaper bag in the front room and began to get ready for the day. A few minutes later, I came around the corner and found Ezra taking his leisure.

He scrambled in and out, sat back and leaned forward....I was laughing so hard! Then he found a book, dragged it back into the chair with him, and sat there reading to himself.
Is he the silliest boy in the world of what? =)

Want to play?

On Saturday morning, Ezra decided to pull out all of his toys and show them to Grandma Kris. Luckily, she had her super sweet camera near by to capture the silliness that ensued. Thanks for the great pictures Mom!

Ezra's blessing

What a wonderful weekend! On Sunday Talin blessed Ezra and BOTH of our parents surprised us by flying out for the event. How lucky are we to have parents who are willing to jump on a plane, come out and play for a few days, and then fly back home to their daily lives? Heidi snagged a flight up from LA too! I've never felt so blessed! =)
Talin gave Ezra a beautiful blessing. It was amazing to see both of our dads standing in the circle of Talin's closest, priesthood holding, friends that surrounded baby Ezra. There are seriously no words to describe my happiness. =)

Saving up

Now that we have all of our pictures done, I'm saving up to buy silver frames from Ikea...but until then...I'm not wasting the pictures! That's right...I'm double sided tapping them to my walls. =)
An Ezra grouping in the front room.
Our family "timeline" down the hall...
starting with engagement and wedding...
moving on from wedding to baby... (I could NOT get a good angle on this one! Sorry Lisa)
and ending with our family group shot at the end of the hall.
A few Mom and Dad shots above the bed...
and a black and white in the baby's room...which I couldn't get a picture of due to nap time. =) It may take a while...but until those frames arrive I'll still be super excited about having family pictures on the wall finally!!
