Miss Berg

The year was 2002 (or 01...maybe even 03..I can't remember) and I was lucky enough to land a job with Challenger's after school program. I ended up meeting the BEST kids!

We had so much fun!! I loved every minute of my time with these wacko's.
Especially the Robertson sisters, Joei and Jordan (yes, that's her yelling at me for taking her picture!)
Fast forward to 2010...I got a text message the other day from the "all grown up" Jordan! She was coming to check out colleges with her mom and sister and wanted to know if our little family could meet up for lunch!! OF COURSE!!!!
I still can't believe my little fourth grade baby is applying to Stanford and Berkley! (I love how smashed my face is in this picture. I couldn't hug this girl enough!)
Joei's going to be driving soon! She's already in HIGH SCHOOL!!!! How does this happen?
We had such a great afternoon reminiscing about all of the crazy things that we did at Challenger. They caught me up on the lives of all the students they're still in touch with. I'm so glad that Jordan's gone out of her way to stay connected with me so that I can have the joy of seeing what beautiful young women these sisters have become!

Ezra had fun too! He was all smiles and giggles during lunch...plus he got to check out a "bike" up close when we were done...what could be more fun then that? =)
The hardest part about being a teacher was only getting to see a "chapter" in the life of my students. I always wondered what they would do or who they would become. That's why I love days like this where I get to read a little bit more in the "book" of these girls' lives. I can't wait to hear more! Thanks for a fantastic day girls!

I love that she texted you! You know now for sure that you were one of her favorite teachers! I have teachers I deeply miss and wish I could contact to say "Thank You!". Mrs. Flygar from middle School. I'll never forget her.

Aww....that makes me miss Challenger so much! She spent four years at Challenger and on her first day of public school she came home and said, "MOM! YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!! There are kids at school that don't obey the teacher!!! Can you believe that?!?!" I do not heart the public school system.
