Playful P

P is for pernicious little virus...
that's right...
...our sanctuary was infiltrated this week by a lousy little hanger-on who decided to first infect the nose of our smallest member and then sneakily made himself at home with me.

The sniffles gave way to the drips, which gave way to the plugs, which gave way to the snoring so loud that Talin practically decided to sleep upstairs just so he could get enough sleep for work the next morning!
Then the cough began...annoying at first, then terrifyingly hacking and long. You know the kind that starts out with a HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA hack hack hack.....oh blargh!!! So, this week's letter activities were more laid back then usual.

Before the illness really kicked in, we started thing off with a letter P pancake breakfast...
...and a fun discussion with Daddy man about what words begin with P.
We traced and colored....
...and set up the letter P "board".
He colored, cut, and glued a mini book about words that start with P.
Then carefully snipped apart each page.
He used the laminator (which means he watched me put the laminating pockets in and then snagged them when they came out)...
...and then stapled the book together. =)
This was a diaper bag favorite this week!
P is for puppet.
We played and played with the many puppets in the house.
For Christmas last year Ezra got an entire box full of fun knit finger puppets from Krissy that came with "story ideas" to act out.
He laughed so hard at the fireman and the chicken (no pics of that...booo!)
My favorite puppet moment was when he asked his puppy to please stop barking (a naughty little habit that I happen to think it hillarious) by singing him Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and snuggling him!!!
Uhhhh....WHAT!?
"You know the words to that song?!"
"uh huh"....
"oh really?"
"What other songs do you know that you aren't sharing with me?"
Turns out....
ALL OF THEM!!
HA HA HA HA!
Who knew that he had such a sweet little singing voice!
Woo hoo thank you puppy puppet!!
P is for park.
There was rain...
and wind...
and sleet this week!
Whenever we could find a sunny moment, we snuck out to play.
On Friday Daddy joined us. =)

P is for pie....
pumpkin pie to be exact!
Can our family ever get enough pumpkin pie?
Probably not!
HA!
(note the vitamins and giant box of tissues....blaaaaaaargh!)
P is for pizza.....
...and patting down breadsticks.
We actually did have some awesome p themed foods this week! Popcorn, pretzels, pickles (that was pretty funny), pears, more pizza (nothing better then take out when you're hacking up a lung on the couch), and pink lemonade.
YUM!

P is for pillows.
HA!
Ok....I know this isn't nursery school related, but I am SO excited to be getting these done!!
The plans and fabric have been laying around for almost two months!
All I have left are the letter J and our profiles...
oh man...
ok so maybe I have more work to go then I thought.
But at least it's a start!
Here's hoping that this week is more productive then the last. =)

Cute Ezra story: Yesterday I was returning Jared to nursery and trying to get him to play with Ezra. Ezra brought me a bunch of hand puppets and handed them to me one at a time saying, "Say hi. . . flamingo," "Say hi. . . hider (spider)," "Say hi. . . bird." It was the cutest. I couldn't believe he said flamingo so clearly!
P.S. Jared, who is reading blogs with me today, is really excited about the picture of a pancake.
