Oh how I love decorating for Halloween! I have the best memories of helping my mom arrange the mantelpiece in our front room with fall leaves and painted wood pumpkins. The appearance of dusty starch ghosts and jointed skeletons signaled the beginning of what seemed like the never ending anticipation for Halloween night.
Ezra was super excited when I pulled out the Halloween box from the closet. He insisted that THIS year he was going to help! Besides...he really, really, really, really....LOVES climbing the step ladder.

First, we put up spooky shapes...I'm not sure how long these will last (two wild cats and one wild toddler make a short life of anything that dangles)...

Then we hung decorations on the gnarly, twisted Halloween tree...

This was the first decoration my mom sent the year that I went away to college. It's not officially Halloween until the tree is out and decorated!

After that, Ezra and I created a new piece for our collection. We colored thin wood shapes that I found on sale at Joann's last week ($.19 each! WOO!)

Then, I hot glued them to a ring cut from a cardboard box and covered with fun paper.
Ta Da! Our homemade, Halloween wreath. =) It could probably use a little ribbon to spice it up. But for now, it's a fun addition to the front door.

We cleaned up, then took our time covering windows all over the house with clings (oh how I love window clings! I think I have over 50!)

The annual appearance of the lamp bats....

cackling witch....

and candy corn lights, made everything feel complete.
We celebrated the first night in our haunted Halloween house by breaking out the glow sticks and dancing.
Ok Halloween....we're ready for you!
