Once again I found myself scrambling this week to come up with an idea for our craft activity in YW. And then...I had an epiphany...STARCH GHOSTS! Does anyone else remember these from their childhood?
To this day, my mom still has the googly eyed ghosts we made in the 80's! I'm not sure if she still puts them out on the mantel, but I used to love looking at them on Halloween night surrounded by lit candles and a glowing fire....oh man I am so homesick lately!
It was unbelievably hard to find liquid startch (THANK YOU Heidi for going to 3 different stores) I wish I'd taken more pictures of the process! But, in the end, the girls had a lot of fun creating their gauzy spooks.
(If you're looking for a tutorial Martha Stewart has one...but I really like the one here. It feels more like the method we used as kids.)
