Ezra and I were invited to a fall festival a neighborhood school was having. The kids were encouraged to come in costume, but I've been slacking this year and haven't put his doctor costume together yet. I pulled out last years creation and told Ezra all about how silly he was in it. He demanded to put it on! Whaaaat? OK then.....here he is in his too small pirate costume enjoying a nice "train ride".
When all of our friends arrived, we bought tickets for the "real" train ride...Ezra was silent and watchful during the whole two turns around the parking lot. I'm not sure what he was expecting to see, but, he didn't seem too disappointed. =)
The engineer and his "engine".
All that train excitement worked up an appetite...fresh popcorn and a pretty lady by your side...it doesn't get any better then this.
After snacks it was back to the wooden train which was definitely the favorite attraction of the day...but the pirate costume had lost it's charm..
With a change of clothes it was time to explore the rest of the booths... (why is this ghost holding a fish? Anyone?)
...and have a few practice runs on the climbing wall.
All too soon it was time to leave....
We're so lucky to have such wonderful friends! (We asked these two to put their arms around each other, and this is what we got. So cute, so shy!)
Speaking of friends...for playgroup this week we decorated Halloween sugar cookies with...
Coleen and Jake
Jess and Maddy
Elizabeth and Ruth
Dru and Cache
Savannah and Jared
Jane and Bowen.
The older kids were such good listeners...
everyone was happily frosting and decorating their cookies...
except for this little boy who just wanted to eat his. I decided to step in and show him how it was done....
which was a BAD idea! Ezra DOES NOT like frosting...apparently.
But he wasn't' alone, baby Jared was happily noshing away on a plain cookie too. =)
I know I've said it a million times, but I really do believe that Talin and I are supposed to be where we are. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing women (and their sweet husbands) and even though life in California is not always the easiest, I know I will always look back on this time in our lives with happiness.
