We usually head out to Utah for Talin's 4th of July break from work, but this year with the baby and the move, we decided it would be better to stick close to home.
We had a wonderful morning with friends at our ward pancake breakfast....
...complete with a children's bike parade!
Ezra had SO much fun with all of his little buddies riding around the parking lot with Sousa blasting in the background. =)
Afterwards, we headed home to pack (some more) and Talin came across a much sought after treat at a random gas station....a kinder egg!
I've never seen Ezra stuff so much chocolate into his mouth that fast!
HA!
Once he got to the prize inside I think he was a little sad that he'd downed the sugary goodness so fast.

We hadn't planned on attending fireworks this year. Ezra isn't a fan, and to be honest, as much as I LOVE a good fireworks display, we have yet to find a Bay Area venue that is worth the trek.
Luckily, Talin could feel our general family funk after a day of ripping apart the house and boxing it up, so he piled us all into the car and headed out to Foster City
(the closest event).
Luck stayed on our side when a sweet parking attendant let us pull in to the giant handicap lot mere steps away from the lagoon where the fireworks were being staged.
He took one look at my belly and waved us in shouting, "It's a boy right?"
Ha!
We smiled and told him no.
Thank you for snagging us such a sweet spot baby girl...my hip joints really needed it!
We settled on the library lawn, just feet from the car, waited for the dusk to become dark....
....and shouted when the show began!
Ezra actually watched most of the action from outside of his little blanket tent this year!
Every year he gets a liiiiiiitle bit closer to the display...not really sure he enjoys it though.
All in all it was a wonderful low key day. We missed our families, and those EPIC Utah fireworks ....but it was nice to be together, rolling with the punches, and enjoying whatever came our way. =)
