Yesterday was the first meeting of Ezra's new "toddler book club" Hee hee!
My sweet friend Jessica had the AMAZING idea of re-assembling our lost playgroup
(once everyone started having more babies our usual get-togethers grew farther and farther apart) into a more organized kids group.
After a quick free play session...
(basically just waiting for everyone to arrive)
...the kids sat down to make a necklace out of foam shapes, beads, and animal cut outs.
I was amazed at how deftly their little fingers could thread beads!
Then we gathered in the front room to listen to Eric Carle's Brown Bear.

They listened with rapt attention.
Then each kid got to pick an animal cut out and we went around the circle talking about the animals that Brown Bear saw.
SO CUTE!
Of course, what book club would be complete without refreshments....
...teddy grahams and cheesesticks...
...delicious!
To wrap things up the kids created their own Brown Bear out of felt, pom-poms, noodles, cheerios, and brown glitter.
What a fun idea.
I can't wait for our next meeting!
On a random side note, our Christmas gift from Talin's Aunt and Uncle arrived today...
TA DAH!
That's right, we are now the proud owners of a donut maker....
(these are peanut butter donuts with honey glaze....mmmmmm!)

...which I foresee being VERY dangerous...

...but they're baked so they're healthier....
....right?
=)
