Nesting

I can't say it's official yet, but the nesting instinct has started to make an appearance. After Simplicity recalled our bassinet I had a little break down because I suddenly felt so unprepared. (apparently there was a dangerous gap between the bedding and the walls of the bassinet...two babies suffocated...SO SCARY) On the night we found out about the recall, poor Talin watched me surf from website to website freaking out because I couldn't find anything I thought would be good enough for our son. (yeah...see, I know that SOUNDS nuts...but it felt normal when I was thinking it.) Luckily, Talin asked one of the ladies at his work what she had used with her kids and she suggested the arms reach co-sleeper bassinet. After a few days of research we found the most AWESOME deal on craigslist and we once again have a bassinet! YAY! The best part is that after he's done using the bassinet it converts to a play yard (YAYAYAYAY!) So...as we were setting things up today, I started to think about how many people in my life have had experience with preparing their homes for new babies...so here is my plea for help! =) Hook me up with the awesome things that we just HAVE to get or things we HAVE to do. What worked for you, and what didn't. Tell me, tell me, tell me ALLL! =)

Jen, that looks very nice. I used my Pack-N-Play as a bassinet/play yard. I love the fact that it folds up nice for storage.
I loved having a Boppy, especially after a C-Section. I had no muscles and even holding a tiny, 8 pound baby was too much for my tummy. The boppy was great support for feeding time. There are many nursing pillows out there but the Boppy worked for me.

I agree...the Boppy is a life saver. Also, I don't know about you, but I was always so nervous that my child was going to roll over and suffocate. We used to put a blanket rolled up on both sides. Well, now they have a new thing that holds the baby in that sleeping position. I am not sure what it is called. When I find out I will let you know...I know over paranoid, but worth not worrying!

Lets see. Loved the pack and play, loved the boppy, loved the bouncy seat with sounds and the soothing vibrations. Liked my changing table and changing pad. Hated the baby swings, didn't like the front baby carriers, never tried a sling though. Didn't like those baby bath tub things, don't buy baby bath robe or baby towels, regulr towels work great. Loved the Tiny Love play yard thing with all the hanging toys. Also liked the Tiny Love mobile with the black and white patterns and the animals.
