Start at the beginning

I realized today that I just jumped into documenting our adventures without explaining what we're doing.
I have a sinking feeling that years from now I'll look back at these posts
(when I finally get our blog printed out!)
and will have NO IDEA why we were in L.A. or why Tal wasn't in most of our pictures.
So...for the sake of my brain...here's what we're doing. =)

Two weeks ago Talin came home from work and exclaimed that we were all going on vacation! WOOO!
His company was sending him to a conference for a week and you KNOW there was no way I was going to stick around in San Mateo while he was in the land of Heidi.
HA!
So, on Saturday, we packed up and headed out.

Although it hasn't been THAT long since Ezra was on a plane, he was so, so, so, excited to be flying again.
Doesn't he look sweet in this picture?
The truth is...it took about 10 minutes of negotiation for him to actually smile at the camera while in Mommy's lap.....
Daddy's lap was no problem though....
hmmmm.
(I love that we have the same look on our faces in this pictures. HA....I title it, "hypothetical discussions on smiling".)
Of course, once we got the rental car and hit L.A. traffic on the freeway, he was gone...
...but once he saw how BIG our hotel was (this is the view from our room) and how pluffy our King size bed was, he was wide awake and bouncing. =)
Randomly, the new Batman movie is being filmed outside of our hotel
(can you see the light truck on the road?)
It was a little crazy trying to actually get IN to the hotel
(we had to convince 2 policemen that we were just trying to check in).
Ezra is now fully versed on the Bat-Cycle, Batman's cape, police chases, and multiple takes.
It's actually a little surreal to be in the middle of the filming.
At one point we had to pull our car off the road so that the Bat Cycle could fly by with HUNDREDS of cop cars chasing him down.
If it wasn't for the camera trucks racing along with him, it would have felt completely real! =)
It's been entertaining to sit at the window and watch them chase each other over and over again.

On the first day, we met Heidi at the hotel and then whisked her off to Joan's on Third
(our favorite restaurant)
Ezra literally dove into her arms, laughing, he was so excited to see her!

On Sunday we had a nice quiet day of walks, naps, books, and family time.
Have I ever told you how much I love vacations?
