For my sweet friend Meagan's 30th birthday, her husband planned a surprise sailing trip for all of her girlfriends!
He organized carpools, had delicious chilled juices for the ride up to the city
...he even provided money for the parking fee in the envelope with his driving directions.
ADORABLE!
It was a GORGEOUS day for a trip around the bay!
What better gift could there be then a chartered sail boat full of your girlfriends talking, listening to music, and enjoying the beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge?
Once things got underway, I staked out a seat next to a group of my favorite preggos (8 of my girlfriends are pregnant right now...that's right EIGHT!!!!!!!!
I was surprised to see how many of them were willing to jump on board this bumpy boat ride)

I wish I could have gotten a picture of OUR boat...but this will have to do
....now imagine 20 or so women littering the decks, laughing and living it up...and you get a glimpse of what our boat looked like to passers-by. =)

This was my first time sailing and it truly is as romantic as you think it would be.
It probably helped that we didn't have to do anything except sit back and enjoy the ride (the captain and his first mate did all the heavy hoisting and steering. )

Once our boat reached the bridge, beautiful box lunches were passed around
(I was so busy enjoying the treats, that I didn't take a picture of what was inside this delightful green package...
...homemade crepes, fruit salad, artisan sandwiches, yogurt, deviled eggs, little heart shaped chocolates and tiny sail boat cookies...YUM!)
After floating under the bridge for a good 20 minutes we turned around and headed for home....
...and home looked absolutely stunning!
Sometimes it blows my mind that we actually LIVE in such a beautiful location. =)
It was a WONDERFUL day!
Since taking this trip, I've been trying to convince Talin that our family needs a little sailboat of our own....he's not convinced. =)
