The funk

There's been a lot of moping going on at this house lately.

To get us out of our funk, I thought some good old-fashion group crafting might break up our blues. Nothing like laying out art supplies, burying yourself in creative pursuits and gossiping your cares away.

Although...I've got to say that Ezra needs to expand his group of friends...I've already heard the juicy stories he had to share about Daddy, Emma, and Owen. =)
We found these adorable little birdhouses on sale for $1 the other day. Ezra was very picky about choosing a house that had a "garage" (the bottom of two holes. HA!) on it.
I love that he now understands that he can stabilize his project with one hand while he paints with the other. It's amazing to watch his little skills grow!
Speaking of amazing, have you seen these little poster paint pots that Crayola makes? They're the perfect size for tiny hands. Plus, with snapping lids and a washable formula...can't lose! =)
Here's the finished product (complete with bird). Don't you love that tie dye roof? It has like 5 layers of 7 different colors!
While Ezra painted I created a no-sew bag out of Tootsie Roll wrappers, tape, and staples (a mock up for an upcoming Young Women's craft night). It turned out to be the perfect size to store the new paint pots and brushes in. SWEET!
I had enough time to get started on my new Valentine's Day wreath that I made using a tutorial I saw over at Tatertots and Jello.
Nothing like hot glue burns and purple painted ear lobes to mark a wonderful afternoon. =)

How fun! I have to ask you, where did you get the bird houses? We are going to do a craft at Amber's slumber party this Saturday, and that would be perfect!

My email is clarsen1968@yahoo.com

Thanks, darling!
