The Gathering

We were so blessed to have our parents make the trip out to California for June's blessing.
And, lucky us, Aunt Erin was able to take a break from her graduate studies and come play in the fall sunshine too!!
The Wadsworth's came a few days before and we were able to do a few of our favorite activities.....like dinner at Knudsen's (of course!)...
...this was the first restaurant we took June too
(when she was only 6 days old! GAH!)
It will always hold a special place in my heart.
Besides, the have the BEST mud pie! HA!
Of course, we had to visit Grandma Maridawn's favorite San Francisco spot....THE WHARF!
Ezra was in grandparent heaven as he was being spoiled rotten.
HA HA!
He got to ride the
carousel, eat mini donuts....
...Aunt Erin bought him an AWESOME crab hat to wear around...

...and he got all the Grandpa Chris time that his little heart could desire!

June and I were content to watch from the sidelines on this surprisingly cold and (not so surprisingly) windy day.
She seemed to enjoy all the sounds and smells of the  busy world around her though.
On Saturday, MeeMee and PopPop arrived.
We did lots of planning, prepping, cleaning
(Oh Erin how can I ever thank you for scrubbing down my ENTIRE kitchen!!),
and of course...baby loving!
Ezra was SO excited to show MeeMee and PopPop how well the lettuce and carrots they planted during the week June was born were doing.
Hmm....I guess he probably should have worn a different color then orange....but if you look close you can see our first "real"carrot.
He couldn't wait to wash and eat it!
There was only one frantic moment on Saturday night, when Talin called me as I made our last Costco run, to say that he'd just tried on June's blessing dress (the dress I was blessed in) and it didn't fit! GAH!!!
My parents and I made a mad dash to the mall and frantically picked out a few simple white dresses (which were surprisingly hard to find!)
I was feeling a little bit sad that we wouldn't be able to use my blessing dress.  But, on Sunday morning, I tried it on one last time, and it fit like a glove!!
HA!
Come to find out sweet, stressed out Talin had tried the dress on OVER June's pj's!!
WHEW!
As Saturday drew to a close I was feeling SO thankful to have our families with us!
Not only did they help us pull everything together for the open house, just KNOWING that we were all in the same town, if only for a few nights made me feel  loved and comforted.
