Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

First, I want to say thank you for all of your loving comments on the last post. It's been a tough month, but I feel grateful to have such loving friends and family to help hold me up during the hard times! Thank you!

One of the great things about having my mom here last week (other then getting an entire week to just do nothing and recover) was having her amazing design skills at my disposal! Did you know that when she lived in San Francisco 30 years ago she was a Macy's store window designer? Oh yes my friends....she's still got it! Hooray for the secret bonus of getting to have her decorate my house!
It's her attention to details...and her little additions here and there..
that just make everything flow together nicely to create a cozy atmosphere that quietly sighs, "welcome home."
I love what she did with the front door...yes those are vinyl stickers on the wall! Luckily, our amazing manager who lives across the hall was not only cool with it, she wanted some around her door too!
We hung Ezra's "hand wreath" from last year on the hall door. Can you believe how tiny those little hands are? I'm so glad I saved this little memento...I can NOT believe how much he has grown in 12 short months!
We decided to surprise Talin by getting a tree and having it all set up and ready to decorate when he got home from work on Friday.
Ezra was SO excited when he woke up from his nap and found a TREE in his front room! My mom helped him put a few ornaments up...which he promptly took off and played with instead. =)
This past week was harsh, but so wonderful having Mom close by (please ignore my swollen, puffy-face and look at her adorable smile instead. ha!).I know I keep talking about how thankful I am, but I honestly have no idea what I would do without this amazing woman in my life! Thank you for taking over for me Mom, our family will be forever grateful!! =)
After dropping Grandma off at the airport on Friday night, Ezra was in NO mood to decorate..so we decided to postpone things until Saturday. We finished getting the lights up during nap time and started decorating.
We learned quickly that the glass/special ornaments have to go up HIGH...but Ezra had more then enough plastic/unbreakable/metal/fabric ornaments to place on the lower branches.
I think he thinks the tree is a great new storage place for toys....he puts the "decerashions" on the branches...but then pulls them off and brings them over to play with his toys. It's so funny!
Here's our completed front room. Now imagine quiet piano music playing classic Christmas songs in the background....an intense smell of pine...a cozy little radiator filling the room with warm air....and a rainy storm outside.
Hello Christmas...you couldn't have come at a better time! =)

Your mom looks like such a nice lady! Your place looks very festive...I guess if you have to recover, it is nice to have such pretty surroundings, huh? ;)

Dear Jenny penny, Talin ans my little EZ,

It was not joyful circumstances, but joyful to come and spend time with all of you and help make life a little easier. It must seem like such a dark rainy day sweethearts, but the sun will come out soon when you are ready for it. Love you always xoxox Mom

P.S. You make me sound like wonder woman and I'm not, just Mom with all her usual idiosyncrasies!

Your house always looked so great at Christmas..your mom looks the same..so pretty! Sorry to hear about your hard and scary time! Life becomes extra special when you go through something like that! I didn't know if I would wake up after my c-section/ hysterectomy and the thought scared and devastated me and made me feel so sad! I hope you recover in perfect condition! It's nice sometimes to have those little reminders of the power and love from above! i too am thankful you and I are both still here! Love ya! tell your family hello!
