I've been looking, longingly, at this fabric for almost a month now. I had grand plans of making a new bag for myself (my diaper bag is hashed) that would be big enough to carry my stuff and Ezra's many essentials (cars, snacks, wipes..). Lucky for me, there was a HUGE sale this weekend and I was finally able to justify the price of my beloved fabric.

After picking it apart and putting it back together THREE times...I finally have my bag!!! I used this awesome
tutorial, which apparently I needed to read closer (hence the three re-do's).

It has a pocket on the inside to hold my wallet, keys, phone, etc. And, it's big enough to fit Ezra's little brown bag of "things" along with diapers and wipes. SO LONG BORING BLACK DIAPER BAG!

For whatever reason, I decided to learn how to patchwork. My pattern called for vertical striped fabric, I found this girly goody to work with.

After cutting the fabric into squares, I pinned them together and sewed a diagonal line...

resulting in this awesome new pattern...which when combined with other squares...

makes these giant patterns! I have to say that I am so much more impressed with what quilters do after messing with this project. Right now, if I never see this fabric again it will be too soon......bah! But, I'm sure that when it's completely done I'll feel differently. I'd post the "close to finished" picture, but it's a gift for a friend (whom I hoping will forgive the many mistakes in it) so I'll wait until I've actually given it. =)

Here's the backing. All of this rain is giving me so much time to just be inside sewing. I like it...but I also can't wait for "park weather" to come back!
