A new experience...

I took Ezra to the doctor to check out a little cough he's had for a few weeks. She walked in the room, looked at him, and said..."oh wow he looks REALLY pale". I told her that he has always been fair, and she replied, "Oh he's fair...but he's REALLY pale". She suggested that we run a series of blood tests to make sure that everything was alright. OH MAN! SO HARD! I had to hold out his tiny little arm while they stuck him with the needle. He cried and cried but as soon as the nurse got all of the blood she needed and bandaged him, he stopped wailing and just sniffled with giant tears rolling down his face....poor baby!!!After some snuggles from Daddy, and Harvey the monkey...
He was back to his old smiley self. =)
The doctor called us that night with the results. He's anemic. I'm so glad that he has a doctor who is willing to go the extra mile to make sure that everything is ok. And, I'm so glad it wasn't something much worse!

I'm so glad it wasn't something worse too. I know your pain. I had to get Tug's blood taken quite a few times when he was 6 month to about 14 or 16 months old. He just wasn't ever gaining enough weight, and the had to keep taking his blood. It's a horrible thing, esp when they can't find the vein right away. His poor arms were bruised for what felt like forever. I felt like a horrible mom. Esp when he wore short sleeves and I got the stares from other people! :( So I totally feel your pain, and I hope you don't have to do that ever again while he's a baby!
Love love,
