Scenes from a family night

It's no secret, next to Friday, Monday is my favorite night of the week!

It's the one night we go out of our way to make sure that the only thing we have planned is BEING TOGETHER!  =)  

Most Mondays we just have a simple devotional and activity at home, but every so often we venture out for an adventure. 

 Last night was one of those nights.

Dolores park in the city just opened their new playground and we had to check it out.

 After devouring his picnic dinner Ezra barreled down the hill to enjoy!

Everything was so clean....and working....and, well, new!

His favorite structures were the boat decks placed randomly all over the playground....not really sure why...

 ....but to be honest...

 ....he pretty much loved everything....

......everything, everything, everything...

 .....WOAH!

 MY favorite was watching him come down this HUGE metal slide...

....when things got too fast he put down his rubber soled shoes and scooted along instead. 

HA!

Such a cautious little man.

 We also discovered the joy of underdog on these SUPER long swings

(p.s. He told me he felt like a bird flying over the city...then asked if he fell off would he keep flying into one of the big buildings. I laughed so hard at that visual!)

 Of course, we had to end the night with ice cream. 

No one comes this close to Bi-Rite and just keeps walking!!

 The fact that plain old chocolate was on the menu that night made Ezra so happy....

 .....and the waning daylight made him soooooooo silly.

Duuuude look at that tongue!!

THAT, my friends, is why I love Monday nights!

(p.s. I swear Talin attended this family night...his head was pounding from a long day at work so he became the official guard of our blankets and picnic basket.....I think the quiet time relaxing under a palm tree, laughing at Ezra and I helped that headache go away faster!)
