Today at the park Ezra met a new friend.
After introducing himself
"HI, my namesezra", (HA!)
He turned and pointed at me,
"This is my friend, Mommy"
OH!
There you have it, world!
I am officially my son's friend!
HOORAY!!
This little conversation made me think of some other funny things he's said lately that I wanted to document
(along with some random, cell phone pictures of everyday life).....

--At lunch the other day I sat his plate on the table and announced,
"Peas and raspberries, side by side, yum yum!"
He looked at the plate and declared,
"Just like Hondo and Fabian!"
(The dog and cat characters in his favorite book)
What the what?
HA HA!

--He's recently started talking to a cartoon dog dressed up like a fireman on a magnet the local fire-station gave us.
One day I heard him say,
"Firedog you are a hero....but I am just a boy."
When I reminded him that boys can be heroes by helping their mommies, he triumphantly turned back to the magnet and declared,
"Firedog I AM a hero TOO!"
(these are his "fireman boots". He demands to wear them to the weirdest places...like Joann's fabrics.)

--While laying in bed one morning, Ezra came barreling in and demanded,
"You be Harvey"
Which meant that he wanted me to give his stuffed monkey a voice so that they could have a conversation.
I groggily sat up and said,
"Good morning Ezra, how are you"
(In Harvey's voice of course.)
Ezra smiled and said,
"Harvey, I ask you a question?"
To which Harvey replied that he could...
Ezra flopped down on his belly, rested his chin in his hands and stared deep into his friend's little plastic eyes,
"soooooooooooooo, you are a monkey?"
he asked.
HA!
That "so" at the beginning KILLED me!

Lately he's also been trying out random phrases that he's heard.
Here's just a few that he'll attempt to start a conversation with.
"I have never seen that"
"Speaking of which"
and "That's unbelievable"
(although that last one sounds more like umbereafuble)

Oh man!
This little kid makes me laugh like NO ONE else can.
I am so grateful that I get to be his mommy. =)

OMG!!!! LJ does the SAME thing with his binkies! I'm so happy that I'm not the only one with a 2 year old who not only loves his binkie, but loves two in his mouth at the same time. Awesomeness.
